Re: Brake conversion 284mm -> 330mm

Hi All,

I have been thinking about upgrading the brakes on my GTA, I have the std 305 setup + DS2500 pads on now. The obvious choice would be the uprated GTA 330 discs and calipers, but the downside with this setup is weight! A 330 GTA caliper is 5.8 kg, a disc 10,3 kg! Not really a good option then...

I am seriously considering this kit which developed specifically for Alfas (available for all 147, 156, GT, GTV 916 models), and seem to be top notch gear:

Alfastumper

I´ll try to translate the danish text for you:

"Extreme high performance kit developed especially for Alfa Romeo models.

-6 pot lightweight calipers (2.6 kg)
-330x32mm two-piece lightweight discs with aluminum hubs (8.1 kg)
-Braided brake hoses
-Caliper brackets in extremely strong high quality steel
-Sport pads suitable for daily use in our climate
-Mounting kit incl. anti-squeal plates

The kit requires a minimum of 17" inch 7.5" wide ET35 rims. Could possibly be used with spacers on narrower rims, or rims with greater ET than ET35"

Price is approx. £1100 if i got the DKK->SEK->Pound conversion right.

Take a look at the rest of the site also, it is really something. To my knowledge it is one of the best/most comprehensive Alfa tuning dealers out there.
