Re: ANY EXPERINCE OF CHIP TUNING ON 166 3 liter???
My vintage 156 V6 (non-ODB remapable) has been fitted with a 3.0 from a 166. Its been fitted with a BMC CDA instead of the air filter and as a GTA inlet manifold (not sure what sort of gain this gives). Straight through centre pipe after the cat and SuperSprint backbox, but I don't see the exhaust as a performance mod, more for the look and the sound.
The car is fitted with a mappable chip "Dastek Unichip" and was programmed for the car on a rolling road for 97 octane fuel, and topped out at 245bhp on the day. So 25bhp over the standard figure. However, I have on good account from Augusto at Red Dot, who has mapped quite a lot of GTV's fitted with the 3.0 V6, that usually these engines produce about 10bhp less than the claimed 220bhp.

Back on the road: Alfa 156 3.0 24v V6, Silver with red leather, Q2 diff, GTA Teledials, headlights & inlet manifold, AutoDelta carbon intake,
decat pipe and SuperSprint rear box, FK coilovers, Dastek Unichip - my 245bhp beast!
Gone but not forgotten: Alfa 156 2.4 JTD Veloce, Vela Blu, Angel 'mad map' & BMC CDA, Ferodo DS2500s - the fastest tractor in town!
