Hi everyone,
so after reading a whole bunch of posts on induction mod etc i have come up with the following and would like some advice.
i have a k&N 57i kit (i know about the maf in advance thanks!)
but
I am thinking of mounting the cone filter inside the original airbox with some samco pipe or similar to replace the current filter to take advantage of the current air intake (as we all know the filter in the engine bay ..heat sink..is kinda daft) and water protection. then i'm thinking get the v6 intake pipe to get more air flowing in there. . . i have a few questions.
1) has anyone done this, does it work and does this sound like a good idea?
2) when the cone filter is in the original air filter box does it need to be 'sealed' like the original to maintain a good air 'vaccum'? or can it just hang inside it?
3) the 57 k&n i have IS oiled so.. being aware of a possibility of maf issues can anyone suggest a way i can remove any excess oil before i mount as a just in case thing.
i guess i am interested in the increased noise and effect of the K&N cone filter but i want to take full advantage of the current & modable airflow setup.
any help, suggestions or what not would be great!!!!!!!
thanks in advance
