I don't know. Maybe that's what happened in all cases I know of but I would expect that the people that fit these filters are careful not to overspray them with oil. Could be wrong though.
On the other hand I've never heard of a BMC CDA/DIA equipped TS blowing a MAF regardless of how much oil has been sprayed on the CDA's inner cone as long as it is well away from the MAF. I have a BMC CDA myself and have had it cleaned and sprayed with oil many times and never had MAF problems apart from a dead wasp stuck on the grid of the MAF housing.
