I had a similar situation with the now defunct (for Alfa) Stratstone. Said they must have 'accidentally' thrown the spare key away! They did offer to pay for a replacement though - before eventually finding the key they had thrown away.

Suggest you get on to ARUK. They might chip in with the cost.
