No point of installing middle box. Just replace it with straight pipe!

On mine I have done the following:

Removing of both pre.cat and main one...replace the main one with straight pipe and a Free-flow back box at the end.

Then you need a BMC-CDA at the front and maybe FMIC....

Then get e new remap.
