Thanks Pud237, this is exactly what I experience and I do the same to avoid it...shift down one gear. Unfortunately, the powerband of the 1.9jtd 16v is not that wide, so 'loosing' this 500rpm in the rev range where the car is the strongest, can make the difference between barely keeping up with another (fast) car or giving it's driver a really bad day. ;-)) After I had it de-tuned, I really felt the difference, so getting a stronger clutch/DMF and perhaps a hybrid turbo (I see quite a few people here on the forum running these...) could turn the car really into something special. I'll follow up on your advice and will try to contact 'zbrskz'...perhaps he's got a few pointers for me. Thanks again !
