I agree that the gauges should be in the line of sight but I hate pillar mounted gauges - I think they look ugly and tacky, OK for a track car but not for a road car.

For me I wanted to have the extra information on oil temperature and pressure and any gauge position has to be better than no gauge at all.

I'm actually surprised that companies like Autodelta dont have a really nice gauge install in the centre gauges - it would be easy for a big company to get twin gauges for each gauge position so you could have oil pressure/temperature, clock and water temperature/fuel
