So far so good.
Main noticeable difference is in-town driving:
Less use of the clutch at low revs in 1st gear.
Pulls smoothly away no issues with hesitant
starts.
The upped rev limit means it's great fun to scream
out of the
starting gate toll both in
1st on the auto routes.
Less changing down from 6th after slowing down
as well.
My "hill climb stage" on the way to work can now be
tackled in 3rd without the need to drop into 2nd
for a couple of bends.
Fuel economy: average 25mpg (computer) on the
way up to England and 28mpg on the way back
with similar load and speeds. (As witnesses by
my two incidents with a couple of mobile radar units.

)
It's put a fresh breath into a (nearly) two year old
car.
It's booked in for the 30K km service on the 28th
so we'll see what Alfa say then.
