Guys and gals
I have owned my GTV since May 2006, and although its tested my patience and the depth of my wallet on a couple of occasions, i will be very sad to see it go...
Currently only advertised on Pistonheads and on here... http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/227119.htm
My question is: Is this a fair price?
I paid £7300 for it last year and no expense has been spared in its maintenance, i would have thought £5300 was a fair starting price....
I was offered £4500 'cash' for it last week which i promptly turned down :tut: was i too hasty?
I don't know, maybe you could have tried splitting the difference with him/her.
To be honest your car should be worth £5,300 - but I've noticed that the 3 litre GTVs, GT and indeed Brera's din't seem to be selling very well - I guess tax and petrol prices are putting people off.
You don't say why you are selling it, but that might be the very reason people are reluctant to buy it - how long has it been advertised for?
Having said the above the £7,300 you paid does seem to be the top-end price...
Honestly? Without looking too hard at your car I'd say it was the top end of the market. Things I'd look at were thirst, (petrol @102p per litre here), and age (it's almost 9 years old)
Personally, I'd hang on at your price, looks nice and tidy, but it may be a while till you sell.
Yes i paid top end price when I bought it to get a clean low mileage exampe (was 33k last may)
I am only looking to sell to raise some cash, i dont want to sell, but unfortunate circumstances dictate my decision ... it wont be my last alfa ownership though of that I am sure... the GTV 3.0 is brilliant:lol:
Its been on pistonheads for around 7 weeks, Ive had three chaps come to see (all timewasters unforunately). I think Ill need to spend the rediculous amount that autotrader want to advertise it properly...
Im certainly not desperate ! If I was i would have accepted the cheeky 4.5k offer :tut:  :tut:
I think its a fair price and if it doesnt sell then I will gladly keep it.... :inlove:
I have a 1999 V reg 3L V6 GTV bought this time last year for £4500
Though mine had done 80K at the time - it was spotless though.
Also have the big teledials and rear spoiler
This is something that has me puzzled. Isn't having spoilers on a front wheel drive car causing behaviour opposite to what you want the car's rear to do at speed. How does it help the handling. I'm not trying to be smart but it's a legitimate question.
I was offered £6K part ex for my last 05 plated 2.0 JTS Veloce (14k on clock!)..got a couple of calls about the car but not much...then sold it for over 10k!
