156 sPORTWAGON

Hello...newbie seeking mechanic recommendation

Hello fellow Alfa'ers,

I have just acquired my third alfa 156 (this time a sportwagon) and I love it, am averaging 200 miles a day at present and the drive is much more agreeable than my previous 206!

However, the engine light is permanently on and I want to get it switched off and to have an alfa specialist to have a fine tune to see if there is a way to get it more smooth at low gear changes (seems to be a little jumpy). The car has 1 lady owner, 52k miles with full Alfa history (she performed the services on average 10k miles ahead of schedule and the car is in excellent condition for a 2001.

Can anyone recommend a tip top mechanic who has a reputation for working some magic whilst keeping costs reasonable. I am sure there is nothing majorly wrong - she drives perfectly at 70-80 for 3-4 hrs per day. Locations would need to be Herts/Essex or possibly Perterborough/Kings Lynn or possibly even Barry (near Cardiff) as I travel around for work quite a bit.

Any recommendation please leave a message or e-mail nick.champion@btconnect.com

Thanks

Nick
