As David C said - it was the flexi that went.. and I think thats the common weak spot...

I actually got the problem sorted yesterday with minimum hassle... and for

£60 !!!

And.. I didn't have to break the joints or cut my hands...

I went to a place near me that builds stainless exhausts for cars, and they cut out th rotten flexi, and fabricated a new pipe that fitted over the old bit they left, attached a new flexi, and welded the whole thing up for hardly anything.. and it took them about 25 mins from me driving in to me paying the money and driving out...

problem solved.. and for me.. the best solution.. Plus - they even tempted me to replace the exhaust with one from them when the rest goes, and they will give me a discount !

For once.. somehting on my Alfa went easily !!!
