No chance of Alfa back in F1. The reason that the 80's Alfa team ceased operation in 1985 was because of FIAT's buyout. FIAT, as already staed by many responses, only wanted one brand in F1, and that brand is Ferrari.

Alfa will never again be in formula one. The Alfa Romeo engine in the back of the Osella in 1988 couldn't even carry the name due to FIAT legal action. So it was branded as an Osella v8 instead.
